Stars

Sometimes I look up at the stars and can’t help but think how gorgeous they are. I’ve always liked sparkly things, and I’m pretty sure I saw mars on the way to work last night.

But then I remember the story of the house with the golden windows. For those that don’t know, It’s about a poor little girl who used to admire a house with golden windows a few miles away that she could see from her home. One day she missed school and cycled to see the glorious windows. It took her all day, but when she got there, she realised the windows were nothing but plain glass. She sat and cried, but when she stood up to cycle home again, she saw her own house, and saw that her own windows were golden in reflection of the sun. She smiled and realised that her house was just as beautiful, especially to whoever lived in this house.

When you look at stars close up, the are just whopping great rocks. Space, close up, is just a shit tonne of darkness and soaring dirt. However, saying this, maybe there’s something out there that sees our little planet like a house with golden windows. Beautiful and distant, a place they might try and get to some day. That’s how we think of space, so it’s probably the same vice versa.
